Ciliegio Apartment

The apartment occupies the ground floor at one end of the house and has aspects to East, North and West. It has approx. 52sq.m.(560sq.ft.) of internal space and approx. 110sq.m.(1180sq.ft.) of terraces and garden for your exclusive use.  This large area for two people is a major feature of the apartment, allowing you to feel relaxed, comfortable and at home.

The kitchen was originally the ground floor of the tobacco drying tower. It is about 4m. by 4m.  A work-surface runs the length of one side below a window, and has built in gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, sink and storage. There is a separate large fridge/freezer, and additional further storage. Kettle, toaster, coffe maker are provided, together with pots, pans, glassware and crockery, etc. A dining table and chairs are arranged on the other side of the room.  A door leads outside to a terrace having table and chairs set under a pergola. Facing West and overlooking the valley below, this spot is ideal for a leisurely evening meal and for seeing some spectacular sunsets.

Three steps lead up from the kitchen/dining room to the living room, which is about 3m. by 6m. A stone wall at one end and the beamed ceiling lend a rustic feel to the room, while the westerly aspect, two windows and arched french doors fill the room with light. A sofa and easy chairs offer relaxation. The tv is for use only with the DVD player; we keep a selection of films separately for shared use.  The bookcase holds a number of guide books and novels. The French doors lead to a garden area to the West.

The bedroom is approx. 10sq.m., and has a double bed, side tables and a double wardrobe. There is a central heating radiator and there are plenty of power points.  A door leads outside to one of the private terraces - see below.  Windows on two sides, extensive stone walls and a beamed ceiling create a luminous, warm and cosy atmosphere in the room.

The terrace shown here is reached from the bedroom through a stable door.  It has an easterly aspect and catches the sun during the morning, while being shaded by a huge, old cherry tree (ciliegio). There are chairs and a small table.  Steps lead from here to a much larger terrace area along the North side of the house (and just visible from the picture), which is lawned and has a paved pergola.  Further steps lead from the far end of this large area to connect with the terrace and pergola outside the kitchen/dining room, and described above.  The apartment thus has private outside areas on all three sides, each having table and chairs.  A gas barbecue is provided.
